Also known as the Sapphire Coast, this region is a jewel that sparkles with inviting ports and beautiful bays. Eden, almost mid-way between Sydney and Melbourne, is a safe port within Twofold Bay. This declared port is managed by NSW Maritime and has its own full-time Pilot/Harbour Master. The port is deep and wide, and provides shelter inside Snug Cove from nearly all weather conditions. You can picnic at Wonboyn Lake, trek through Ben Boyd National Park, or visit the Killer Whale Museum.
When weather permits, visit the small fishing towns of Bermagui, Narooma, Moruya and Batemans Bay. All the towns offer provisions, fuel and enjoyable day trips, including bushwalking, scuba diving and prawn fishing.
At 26 metres deep, Jervis Bay is one of the deepest sheltered harbours in Australia. The bay provides good shelter in all inclement weather and its all-weather entrance allows safe navigation, day or night. Here you can explore the marshlands,take surf lessons, or kayak along the coast.There are no berthing facilities except those used by the Australian Navy at HMAS Creswell Naval Base. Port Kembla is a commercial por 42 miles south of Sydney. Whilst it has no superyacht facilities, it can be a welcome shelter from bad weather if required. The Sapphire Coast beckons all the south coast who seek adventure and beauty on the water.
