We’re New South Wales (NSW), Australia’s most populous state, with over 7 million people and over 600 nautical miles of pristine coastline. Within our state, you’ll find the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), the Jervis Bay Territory, and of course, Sydney. Sydney, the capital of NSW and Australia’s largest city, glitters like a diamond on the coast. You know about its Opera House and Harbour Bridge, but Sydney is also a world-class superyacht destination, with all the refit services you need and all the luxuries and comforts you crave, all in a magnificent setting.But we’re more than just Sydney. So much more. Just to the north is Newcastle, where you can get your ship refitted at state-of-the-art shipyards.
Port Stephens, where you can enjoy game fishing, scuba diving, and wind surfing. Farther north you’ll find the picturesque towns of Port Macquarie, Trial Bay and Coffs Harbour, all beckoning you to explore them. Beyond them you’ll find new adventures and a subtropical paradise in Byron Bay and the Clarence River. South of Sydney you’ll find the treasures of the South Coast, including Jervis Bay, Batemans Bay, and Eden. But don’t limit yourself to the coastline. In the Southern Alps, you can enjoy skiing and other winter sports in toprated resorts. If you love wine, the Hunter Valley near Newcastle will become one of your favourite haunts. The posh resort town of Byron Bay. The sparkling inlets of the Sapphire Coast. Few places in the world can offer you so many superyacht thrills. From the Queensland border in the north, to the Victorian border in the south, NSW delivers year-round cruising excitement. It doesn’t get any better than this. If you love an easy ride, you’ll love NSW. South-bound ships can hitch a free ride on the East Coast Current, which flows at up to 4 knots along the 100-fathom line. Those tracking north can cruise close to shore to avoid the current and glimpse the many adventures awaiting them on land. It doesn’t get much simpler than this. And go beyond the coast. NSW offers you many navigable rivers, some with challenging bar crossings, but all worth the challenge. With so many places to go, choosing a river to explore may be the greatest challenge of all.
